Requirements of policyholder:
- Between 18 – 85 years old (annual plan will accept up to 75 and renewable until 85 years).
Requirements of insured person:
- Family member(s) or friend(s) of policyholder, and is / are age aged between 30 days and 85 years old.
- Family member(s) of policyholder refers to policyholder's immediate family member including spouse and your unmarried children aged up to 17 years old.
The following circumstances shall not be covered by Well Link Insurance:
- Individual not recommended to travel by medical practitioner.
- Trip for receiving medical treatment.
- On-duty high-risk industry practitioner.
- Travel to Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Sudan, Syria, Democratic Republic of Congo and / or Democratic Republic of Somalia or any countries declared as War Zone.

With effect from 2 February 2019 until further notice, Well Link Insurance's travel insurance policy will not cover travel cancellation arising from insolvency and/ or bankruptcy of airline for customers choosing to travel with Hong Kong Airlines. Customers with our Travel Insurance policies issued before that date will not be affected.
Coverage
Policyholder is entitled to receive zone specific travel protection on the following aspects:
- Medical Expenses: Reimbursement to insured person for medical expenses resulted from accident or illness sustained during the trip.
- Accidental Death or Total and Permanent Disablement: A lump sum compensation will be paid to insured person or his / her family in the event of accidental death or total and permanent disablement of the insured person during travel.
- Emergency Medical Evacuation and Repatriation: Medical repatriation to Hong Kong for insured person in the event of his / her inability to return to Hong Kong resulted from severe illness or severe accidental injury during travel.
- Loss of Personal Possessions: The insured person is covered in the event of lost, stolen or damaged personal belongings or travel documents during travel.
- Delayed Baggage* : The insured person is covered in the event of his/her checked-in baggage being delayed for over 6 consecutive hours.
- Travel Delay* : The insured person is covered in the event of travel delay or cancellation due to:
- Flight cancellation caused by ash clouds or strikes
- Delayed public transport due to mechanical breakdown
- Travel delayed for over 6 consecutive hours
* With effect from 5 November 2019, “Travel Delay/ Delayed Baggage” protection is not applicable to policyholder/insured person who holds any other travel insurance policy(ies) with same nature of benefit for the same delay. Customers with our Travel Insurance Policy(ies) issued before that date will not be affected.
- Travel Cancellation: The insured person is covered in the event of trip cancellation due to:
- Insolvency of travel company or flight carrier
- Black Alert under OTA system
- Strike, riot at planned destination
- Death, serious injury of insured person's family member
- Personal Liability: The insured persons is covered against legal liability to other people arisen during the trip.
- Shortening of Travel: The insured person is covered for paid but unused trip in the event of travel disruption due to unexpected death, serious injury or illness during travel.
- Rental Car Excess: A compensation up to HK$5,000 per insured person for any accident in a rental car during the trip.
- Automatic Policy Extension: Your policy will be automatically extended that you are hospitalised or guaranteed outside Hong Kong. Additional premium will be charged.
- Pet Hotel (optional): Reimbursement of extra pet hotel expenses for one pet of the insured person in the event of travel delay due to your hospitalisation overseas.
Single cover is eligible for a maximum of 182 days per trip. Maximum compensation limit is subject to type of coverage.

Our single trip plans can cover you for trips up to 182 days.
Our annual plan covers you for all travel taken within a 12 month period. There's no limit to the number of trips you can take so long as each trip is no more than 90 days.
We make it simple for you to take out our cover for immediate peace of mind. You'll just need the personal particulars like HKID and date-of-birth for you and your travel companions if included on your policy.
You can get a travel insurance quote by following our simple step by step guide. You can go ahead and take out your cover which can take effect immediately if you choose. You will receive an SMS confirming your immediate cover. If you need more time to decide, then you can save your quote and go back to it at a later date. Your quote will be saved in our system and is valid for 30 days.
Your travel insurance premium is calculated based on a number of factors including your age, destination, and whether you engage in risky activities in sports. Your premium is also based on the level of coverage you choose. We have three levels of coverage to choose from.
You need to take into account your own circumstances and needs when deciding how much travel cover to take out.
Consider the following:
- How much your family would need without your salary to support them should you become disabled or involved in a fatal accident.
- Will you be taking expensive items such as cameras during your trip? If so, you will need to choose a plan with higher cover.
- You can also take into account how much premium you would want to pay.
Asia:
Brunei, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Laos, Macau, Malaysia, Myanmar (Burma), Philippines, Saipan, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.
Worldwide:
All other countries except for excluded countries.
We do not cover you for the following countries: Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Sudan, Syria, Democratic Republic of Congo and / or Democratic Republic of Somalia or any countries declared as War Zone.
We'll cover you for scuba-diving as long as you inform us during the time of purchase; also you have a qualified instructor with you.
We cannot cover people who have been advised by a medical practitioner not to travel or anyone who is travelling on a trip to receive medical treatment.
If the TIC registered travel company becomes insolvent and you can't proceed with your trip as planned, then we will help to compensate you.
If you, any member of your family or travel companion become serious injured or sick before your trip and have to cancel it then we will help reimburse your fare and accommodation charges less the amount you are able to claim from the travel provider or carrier.
No. Our “Travel Delay/Delayed Baggage” protection is not applicable to policyholder/ insured person who holds any other travel insurance policy(ies) with same nature of benefit for the same delay.
We make it easy for you to renew your policy. This can be done automatically if you choose and we will deduct the amount from your credit card when your renewal is due. If you don't opt for automatic renewal we will send you an invitation to renew.
